Don't think you could... even profession expatriates are having difficulty in getting a credit card in Malaysia, as a student from a foreign country.... I don't think you'd be able to get one. So, if you need to buy a laptop... only way is buy one with cash.... so start saving up now.

As a foreigner and a student, it would be quite impossible to apply for a credit card in Malaysia. Some banks do issue credit card if you deposit a sum example RM5000.00 to their fixed deposit account and a credit card with RM5000.00 credit limit will be issued. I do not know whether this applies to foreigners or not, you can try.

I personally think it's impossible. I'm a local student and I can't get a credit card too. A few years ago Alliance Bank did offer credit cards with limits of RM1000. But it's no longer available. Try looking up for shark loans if you're really desperate (not recommended!). Try going to Low Yat Plaza and ask the guys over there. If they any of them accepts debit cards, go apply for one. Debit cards are possible for you to have, I have 4.. Lastly, I would suggest you to see a friend and tell your urge to get a laptop, maybe he would buy it for you ( cash or credit card) and you'll have to pay back to him by installments. Good Luck!
Answer 4 :
You gotto check with the bank. Maybe you can apply one in your own country and use it here. I'm not sure about that. But DON'T ever go to loan shark.
