Will I be taxed if I bring my Laptop into Malaysia?
I'm going to Malaysia for a little class trip, and I'm wary of the police there. Can whoever is out there provide me the link for the Customs and Immigrations of Malaysia on taxes?

Answer 1 :
you can find varieties of it at Lowyat Plaza, near Bukit Bintang area
Answer 2 :
Low Yat Plaza.... there are cheap ones and expensive ones, good and bad, new and 2nd and......
Answer 3 :
Go to Low Yat Plaza at Bukit Bintang, you will be able to find what you want there.
Answer 4 :
Well, like the other answerers said, I too suggest Lowyat because comparing the price of electronic devices sold there and else where, Low Yat should be the cheapest around.
Answer 5 :
i have 1 unit ipod nano 8GB for sale. brand new!!! price RM450.00 interested? contact at mohdsyahnis@yahoo.com
Answer 6 :
Cheaper laptops are without an OS Avoid getting rip off if the salesperson offers to install OS for 50 ringgit . As the 50 ringgit OS last about 30 days. Purchase a genuine OS . The OS price is cheaper in Asean countries . Target the brand and model of your intended purchase . Compares the prices from at least 5 shops inside the LowYat or at other places. Know what you wanted to buy. If you plan to install your own OS , make sure the laptop supports it. Most of the newer laptops does NOT support WinXP and virtually without online helps for XP drivers

Usually, it's all year long. Somehow, people always wait until PC Fair to buy computers and laptops but there isn't much difference. So, the best deal you can get is sign up a broadband package and get a laptop together with it. http://www.celcom.com.my/broadband/html/notebook.html

Answer from Malaysian... No, it depends on how much you bring it. If more than 2 or three, the tax will be charge. If it is personal use, the answer is absolutely no
