Hi im from Malaysia. i'm goin to Uk (Leeds) in january 2007. I need to buy a laptop. what brand shud i buy?
for the laptop my concern are: 1.reliability 2.easy access to service outlet 3. not too heavy (lady owner) i'm thinking of Acer,Compaq,Dell or Hp..thanx almost forgot..my budget max 3k coz gonna buy 2 unit

Go to Lowyat and see for yourself, lah! :-P Really, its easier, and you can check it out firsthand. If reliability is really important, get HP or Compaq. Its not that Acer and Dell aren't reliable, but HP and Compaq have exceptional build quality.

If size is not your main criteria I like the SONY Vaio.. if you are looking for something that is used for entertainment, work and a large screen I recommend the Toshiba Qosimo or the HP Pavilion.. though a bit bulky its about 4.5kg.. But if weight is an issue.. the Sony Vaio's works quite well and the service centers are global..

Buy HP. It's much better than DELL and Acer.

Buy Toshiba. Best brand in laptops I think toshiba is the first brand in notebooks

Go to a reputable computer store and ask to speak to someone who is knowledgable on laptops. Tell them what you need the laptop to do and how much you have to spend. They will show you alternatives. Do that in 3 or 4 stores, then go on the Internet and save yourself up to 10%. In other words, get the best that you can afford. All manufacturers have good and bad models. A shop assistant who deals with them everyday will know the best (and worst)

im new on ebay malaysia..?
im wondering is it worth selling laptops on my ebay if the buyers are from say the US ? i mean in the postage sense...how much would it cost for shipment actually? Would it cost like a fortune? thanks

that is worthless business. computers/laptops are much cheaper in US. almost half the price from malaysia. If you include the hipping cost, you wouldn't be any profit at all

I stay in Malaysia , i want travel to beijing China this weekend can i bring my laptop ?any charges in air port ? any problem in china or china air port ?

You can bring your laptop. There will be no charge if you just bring one. If you bring 35, of course, there will be charge. Make sure there is not pornography in your laptop. Also no anti Chinese government or Communist party material. Otherwise, with a very slight chance, you may get trouble.

of course you can. but you have to travel with an adult, u can't travel alone that young. i looked like you when i was little btw. i thought that was me at the beginning, we have same hair. i wish i knew how to use a laptop when i was that young.
