Answer 1 :
i'm not sure about hp laptop but maybe acer have great deal with your specs.. acer aspire 4530 model....250 gb hdisk,1 gb ram (upgradable),nvidia geforce 9100m g chipset, and turion 64 dual core 2.1 ghz.. i prefer to use xp than vista because vista use a lot of space in hd and ram... furthermore not all game is supporting with vista.
Answer 2 :
Laptop prices are cheaper in the Asian region because this is where they are manufactured (Japan, China). Thus, export costs are lower than if the destination is closer as compared to exporting to Europe or the US. I heard the HP Pavilion Dragon is pretty good. It's about $2100+. There's also the HP Pavilion 16t

Is dell laptops tend to overheat more than other brands of laptops?
I am planning on buying a new laptop. So, I prefer HP over other brands cause I hear that their product is very good and durable. But, in Malaysia, HP is very expensive. So, I looked for another option which is Dell. Dell have laptops within my budget. But my brother's Dell laptop overheat just within a year!! Err don't get me wrong. I like Dell. I have Dell desktop myself. thanks everyone you guys have been very helpful the tip on choosing the processor for laptop is very helpful

Answer 1 :
Everyone in my company has Dell laptop (Company provide - thousands), there is no overheat reported at all (4+ years).
Answer 2 :
I haven't heard of that problem being specific to Dell. If you're worried about overheating, you can use a cooling pad.
Answer 3 :
Dell sucks, but all laptops can overheat, they need to be on a flat surface with the ducts un obstructed, the cheap little fans are a common failure regardless of brand. also a cooler running processor like centrino or turion is a good option, all the other processors are desktop versions crammed into a laptop case
Answer 4 :
Really? I thought HPs were good, and was told by TONS of people that they are having problems with them. Dell is my favorite PC brand, my mom has one, although she uses it just for work. It's really fast, and definitely durable. Sony is also supposed to be very good. The Dell I have has never overheated. Stays very cool, even when I just leave it on because I'm doing something else.
