MP3 I believe is fried from leaving plugged in when I put my laptop in Hibernation mode
MP3 I believe is fried from leaving plugged in when I put my laptop in Hibernation mode.?
alright i have a Sony MP3 and since I'm not sure what... version or whatever it is, this is what it says on the back: NWZ-E43F DIGITAL MEDIA PLAYER SONY CORP. S/N:5495741 MADE IN MALAYSIA well i wasn't thinking about unplugging the MP3 when i put it in Hibernation. about a half hour later i turn the laptop back on and i get a pop-up in the corner saying One of the USB devices attacked to this computer had malfunctoined, and Windows does not recognize it. For assistance in solving this problem, click this message. then, i click it and i get a pop-up again with all this unused port stuff and there's one that's bold and it says: The location of the device in shown in bold type. and in bold type it says: Unknown Device. So... how do i fix this or is there no hope? Thanks as always to anyone who helps me! Also, MP3 Won't Turn On.

most usbs sometimes "malfunction" so i wouldnt worry about it , make sure your mp3player is turned off ,unplug it form the computer and restart ur computer, with the mp3 still off try plugging it into another usb slot from the other you tried. If it hasnt turned on turn the mp3 on and hopefully it will install the drivers and work, Good luck and hope it works

Where can I buy a Professional looking laptop bag for my 17" MacBook Pro in Kuala Lumpur
Where can I buy a Professional looking laptop bag for my 17" MacBook Pro in Kuala Lumpur?
Looking for a laptop bag to fit my 17" MacBook Pro (+wires/cables/pens/etc of course) that isn't a brightly coloured pack back. Need it for work, so I want it to be black/silver/grey, plain but stylish. I don't mind leather/hard case, but with an additional shoulder strap would be perfect. Not looking for an old-grandpa looking bag or a children's styled bag. I am a Marketing Executive, Male, late 20's, so I where suits all the time & walking around with a 'pretty little back pack' doesn't suit my suit! Hard to find in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. If you know, let me know! Otherwise I'll have to buy online. P.S PLEASE DON'T JUST GUESS!!!... I want to know where others have bought there's, or have seen what I am describing. I have been to Sungei Wang, Low Yat, BB Plaza, KLCC, etc. I would like to know exactly where to get what I'm looking for, not just a 'I reckon if you go there, you'll find what you want' kind of answer. Only genuine answers please! Happy New Year!

Answer 1 :
I don't know what the prices are like there, but a Mac is the same as a PC at a higher price, and not upgradeable except with Apple parts. (You can run either operating system on either computer.) Acer and ASUS are making good laptops these days. Dell Latitude is also good, as is Sony, but both are overpriced. Dell Inspiron is made cheaply to sell cheaply. HP no longer has any quality. And Gateway, although they were selling the best buy for the money last year, has discontinued its good notebook line, so unless someone has an unsold P6060FX or P7811FX, there's nothing from them worth buying.
Answer 2 :
I have been in the pc repair business for several years now. You will see the quality of different brands oscillate. Toshiba seems to be consistent in being of good quality. I disagree about Acer. Acer is a low-end terrible terrible product. They sell cheap because they are cheap. HP makes a great PC but a mediocre laptop. Gateway is about the same in quality as HP. Find a notebook you are comfortable with and watch the specs on the RAM, processor, and hard drive capacity. There is more technical things to watch for, but most manufacturers will correlate these specs around the specs I mentioned. Good Luck

HELP" My acer laptop isn't working
HELP" My acer laptop isn't working!!?
I know zip about pcs so please bear with me... I have an acer travelmate 4150 laptop. I've had it for roughly two years now and is was used mainly for surfing the web, word and excel. no games, nothin "big" installed. I was working on excel one day and i left it for a few minutes. when i came back, the screen was blank and it says: blahblahblah/Path/SYSTEM/blah.dll is corrupt and it says i should insert the start-up disk... Problem: i dont have the start-up disk... i got this system in malaysia and im in the us right now so will then put a wrench in the solution? i made a few searches and found a "Acer pro-recovery CD" which "says" it will recover my files as well... i have the xp cd, can i use that? so... should i buy the recovery cd or is there something else i can do? thanks in advance

Answer 1 :
You must reinstall Windows on your your laptop because one of the system files has been corrupted and that may be the cause of your problem. I hope these helps.
Answer 2 :
If you have the XP CD that should do it for you. The Acer Recovery CD is No More than there ADD ON stuff and I doubt that it can fix a DLL Problem.
Answer 3 :
with some acers you can press ctrl f11 at bootup and it will take you to a recobvery mode just follow onscreen instructions

Answer 3 :
"Good" is such a subjective term...if you're just using the internet and watching movies then, sure it's good. Will is last you 5 years? Technically I suppose so, but it'll be crap 2 years from now.
Answer 4 :
ur computer os good but don't use that windows 7 x64 edition ,as windows 7 doesn't support many applications further more x 64 doesn't support more applications u don't have any VGA cards pls buy it nor then ur other hardware will not be able to run new games, and also your processor isn't good change it its not powerful , only good RAM doesn't make ur computer run smoothly ,u can decrease ram and try new processor above than intel core 2 duo if u have enough money but intel core i black series processors

Answer 1 :
cheap booze and hookers!
Answer 2 :
well a nice camera and a nice trip to a relaxing spa or what you set your mind 2
Answer 3 :
Well first off I suggest not getting a laptop from countries like them. If i were you I would find markets with cheap items like DVDS and games then I would bring them back and sell some and keep the good ones. Make some money back and have some cool DVDS! There are also cheap brand name cloths (but they are fake) But they still don't look bad. I would buy some.
Answer 4 :
I just spent 12,500 in Thailand and Malaysia... $1,100 of that was on a laptop (Acer Aspire One) and an underwater camera (Sony W170 w/ housing). I am quite pleased with both items. I didn't spend that much on clothes, but I had some suits, pants, shirts, and jackets made. For $1,100 you could completely update your wardrobe. If you need the name of a good tailor (or several) in Phuket, I can give you one (or several, haha). I spent about $500 on advanced SCUBA training... $1,100 would go a good long ways towards diving.
Answer 5 :
You can buy a laptop , camera and ipod for just $ 1100... A simple HP laptop costs around $400 - $ 500 , Sony digital camera around $200 - $300 and ipod around $200 - $300 .. Depending on their capacities , the prices might vary... I would recommend you buy those machines cuz they're very useful.. Cheers,

I like Dell's customer service personally. You may want to wait until next month to buy it though. Dell is upgrading their mini line to include a bunch of new, improved features (including a longer lasting battery that doesn't stick out the back or bottom)

I like Dell's customer service personally. You may want to wait until next month to buy it though. Dell is upgrading their mini line to include a bunch of new, improved features (including a longer lasting battery that doesn't stick out the back or bottom)

Company rejects my Laptop Warranty with NO solid evidence, what can i do to fight
Company rejects my Laptop Warranty with NO solid evidence, what can i do to fight?
Hi All, I am from Malaysia. Cutting the story short. I have recently sent my @cer Laptop to the service centre due to unable to switch on. They have told me that my motherboard had burn marks on it, and they assumed it was caused by Lightning Strike or Power Surge, which is Under section B and clause 1.9 of the @cer Warranty Booklet. @cer do not covered any damage which is caused by natural disaster or Acts of God. They have sent me a report. Here is what they've said: Model: @cer Aspire AS4736G-654G32MN Serial Number: LXPG30X001928040E81601 CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T6600 RAM: 4gb ddr2 Graphic Card: Nvidia Geforce 512mb vram Reported Problem Symptom: SF45 - CAN'T POWER ON SYSTEM Diagnosis Report 1. During the diagnostic stage, the system was detected no display and auto off by itself. 2. Disassembled the notebook, found capacitor/resistor was damaged and burn mark around the area Due to the damage components and burn area are located after and directly joint to the RJ45 connector. Under this condition, we can conclude that the damage was caused by external factor and mostly it’s from the high voltage surge through the RJ45 connector. Under section B and clause 1.9 of the @cer Warranty Booklet. @cer do not covered any damage which is caused by natural disaster or Acts of God. I am an NGO worker and using my Laptop as an educational material to teach people with learning disability and also to raise awareness in schools and public. I was asked to pay RM700 (which is a lot) to replace it. But i have denied and demanded more evidence. They suggested to me to send it to Taiwan for experts to check on it but all the expenses will be paid by me. Again, i denied. The case is pending. I am gathering materials to support my case in Tribunal for Consumer Rights. What can i do to fight? Any specific procedures the Service Center/technician must do to tell whether it is caused by Lightning strike/power surge? Or are they just doing a basic check-up, thus guessing the problem? Is this even possible? Please i need your help. PS: I DID NOT turn on my Laptop on that day. Morning was working fine but when came back from work, Laptop couldn't start anymore. It was not plugged in and it was in my bag in the house. I am using a 3-plugged extension socket (for Modem, @cer Laptop Adapter and Handphone Charger). Socket is perfectly fine as well as the others. As i remember it correctly, it was a clear evening weather. Thank You Fendi

Answer 1 :
There is no one set of specs that you need, but I'll give it a try. You'll still need a graphics card, if only a 256mb (discrete! never ever "shared" or "integrated"). Don't worry about the hard drive size, just the rpms- most are 5400rpm, but try to find a 7200 rpm. If you need extra storage (and laptops today have plenty for all your programs), get an external drive. You didn't say if portability and weight were issues, so I'll compromise and recommend a 15.6 screen and no more that 5 pounds (about 2 kilos, I think). Don't settle for less than 3 gigs of RAM, at least 4 if it's a Windows 64bit OS. And a dvd drive and as many usb ports as possible (at least 3) are good too. Aside from specs, the rest is design and cost, which you didn't indicate a preference on. I hope this helps.

Portable Broadband Internet Connection (Laptop)?
Lately I purchased a new laptop and am currently looking for a way to connect to the internet from all over the world. Currently I'm in Malaysia and will be residing in Korea. Since I am new to this whole portable internet thing and am not good with the terms and gadgets that are available lately, please suggest a few ways for me to set up a portable internet connection and be able to use it from anywhere else in the world. If there are certain gadget names, please do name them. Thanks !

buying an AMD dual core laptop
buying an AMD dual core laptop?
Can anyone help me with these specs?? -at least 1.6 ghz -1.8 ram -screen 12.1-15.4 -256 of VRAM(or 512, better) -Hard drive 150 gb or higher -Good price -AMD dual core processor Preferably Hp, can any1 help me?? In malaysia.. Any1 noe where I can find a laptop with those specs? Anyone know a laptop with those specs or better?? slightly worse is acceptable..
Malaysia - 6 Answers
People's Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
Answer 1 :
you can find those spec at Low Yat Plaza, or Imbi Plaza..they can offer you the best laptop at the best price..
Answer 2 :
Here's the spec: AMD Turion X2 dual-core mobile technology is made for mobility uniquely optimized to deliver better multi-tasking performance (yeah, they always exaggerated to sell) with Enhanced Virus Protection (EVP) protection. AMD Turion X2 2.0G (TL60 with 2x 512Kb Cache) 512MB or 1GB Ram for system memory (more than enough to play my Solitaire) 160GB 2.5" hard disk (big enough to store data and games) 256MB or 384MB for graphic display (I'm curious, is it built-in integrated of dedicated? there'sa huge differences on both) Between 14" and 15.4 Wide WXGA LCD screen Wifi or Buetooh or both for net connection and bluetooh for wireless devices Standar 56K modem and NIC (included should you're still using dial-up connection) USB port, firewire port If it says Intel graphics, Nvidia or ATI or anything integrated that refers to graphics card (and sharing RAM with your system RAM) DVD burner could be DVD-RW (RW is acceptable) or DVD-RAM (better than RW but less use by user, works like any normal floppy disk but fast) check here to find out more of DVDRAM: http://articles.directorym.com/DVD_RAM-a39.html If the package is only offering DVD but no RW or RAM, then you are wasting your money because it only offers CDRW to be precise. Some offers free carrying case A mouse, free usb thumbdrive At least a year support for warranty. Branded company sometimes offers more. (The spec taken from HP Compaq) Dell not bad but the screen is thicker compared to other brand. If you can invest some extra cash, go for HP Pavilion. Robust but it's expensive. The choice for money wise would be Presario. Some say Compaq Presario have hardware issues, but that was a history. Don't get anything from Taiwan like BenQ or Acer any Taiwan branded. If you still prefers that, ask anyone with experience using the Taiwanese brand. Reason is complaint receives on the product (yeah, and no one heard it because they're good in cover up) Others if you are concern about budget, than stick to your budget. If you can spend more, then you can decide for yourselves. Intel too offers a good solution but you have to check thoroughly.
Answer 3 :
Professional Advice: *1 (best) 1. Fujitsu (3 years warranty) 2. Apple MacBook 3. Toshiba 4. Sony Vaio 5. HP Pavilion (6, if you drop no.3 from your list). Dell Inspiron
Answer 4 :
I just came across a site that sends you a laptop for free! I'm ordering mine right now, it's a Sony VAIO and it looks really hot!
Answer 5 :
I need to add that if you can, go for Intel chipset cos the fastest AMD is commonly believed to be slower than the Intel. Hope that helps.
Answer 6 :
try ACER re sailer around your area. not only ACER but try other company such as DELL or TOSHIBA. they should have the info u need

Answer 1 :
Alienware is better quality. With apple you might be able to get better stats for the money but if you can afford it go alienware.
Answer 2 :
Alienware if your a gamer for sure, but for general computing get a MacBook.
Answer 3 :
Alienware is definetly the better choice here. Apple is very expensive to repair and not compatible with many programs and websites. Also, the customer service for Alienware is superb and best of all, FREE.
Answer 4 :
alienware by far
Answer 5 :
it depends on what you are going to do with your computer, if you are a gamer than i will suggest an alienware, but for everything else a mac is better. as in long lasting an alienware is still a pc which means it gets viruses compared to a mac which doesnt get viruses. i have a macbook and it is the best computer out there with leopard. it never frezes and it never lets me down. i used to have an alienware and when ever i tried to do multiple stuff like listen to music, and go on myspace while im downloading something it would freze and i would have to put ctrl+alt+del to force quit but when ever i try that on my macbook it never frezes
Answer 6 :
I would say apple but if the alienware one hasn't come out yet it's probrably better, because it will of looked at other designs to check it's competition so it can make it better quality. But if you're still not sure check these two reviews and you can decide.
Answer 7 :
If I were you, i would get alienware. Good for everyday use especially the speed. Good for gaming and most of all. It will last you and the parts are cheaper than Mac.
Answer 8 :
Hey... go to Low Yat Plaza... a lot of notebook sell there... easy for u to change parts...
Answer 9 :
If you are in to gaming, get the alienware. If you are in to photo editing, music making, video creating, anything creative, get a mac. I personally own an alienware tower and a macbook 13". I'd prefer the macbook for sure.
Answer 10 :
the answer for ur question is obviously mac

I have a laptop Satellite M50 series, for 3years The LCD screen has become pink and greenish on the side of the screen. Now it keeps on flickering (like neon lights is about to b finished) and becomes black but can still see the application but its very deem. Is this due to the Back light/Inverter? I live in Malaysia, any very trusted place to go to a electronic shop or Hardware store would b nice :) Thank you for your kind help.

I have a Toshiba Satellite laptop that was 3 years old and the screen just died. I hooked it up to a monitor since the computer was still good. Not the most convenient thing in the world, but a cheap fix (old monitors can often be had for free...of course, then your laptop is no longer really portable

Can anyone recommend a laptop
Can anyone recommend a laptop?
Looking for a new laptop... good specs for gaming... not looking for top end graphics, although a decent one will do. Most important - looking for high RAM capacity, good speakers and large HD. Preferably something as light as possible so a screen <15". hopefully something i can get in malaysia or australia, but i am open to all suggestions I am aware of the standard of graphics card I need but I was hoping for some MODEL and brand recommendations which fit my requirements,

Gaming laptops will run you a bit more money so just be aware of that when deciding to game on a laptop. What you are looking for will be a laptop with a dedicated video card that is suitable for gaming. Avoid anything with Intel graphics and look for ATI or NVIDIA gaming quality cards. I'm not as familiar with the newer/mobile ATI but for NVIDIA, look at the 9600M, 9700M, or some of the later GTS 260M, GTS 360M, GTX 260M-280M models would work. Go for about 3-4 GB of RAM (more is generally better) ** Edit ** Here are a few models (from NewEgg and in US prices): ASUS X83VP-A1 NoteBook Intel Core 2 Duo P8700(2.53GHz) 14.1" Wide XGA 4GB Memory DDR2 800 500GB HDD 5400rpm DVD Super Multi ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4650 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834220667 ASUS K50 Series K50AB-X2A AMD Turion X2 RM-75(2.20GHz) 15.6" 4GB Memory 320GB HDD ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4570 NoteBook http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834220636 Gateway P-7908u FX Edition Intel Core 2 Duo P8700(2.53GHz) 17.0" 4GB Memory 500GB HDD NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260M NoteBook http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834101203 ASUS G Series G51Vx-X3A Intel Core 2 Duo P8700(2.53GHz) 15.6" 4GB Memory 320GB HDD NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260M NoteBook http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834220639 Personally I like the Asus models and I have the Asus G50Vm-X1. From the Asus site, they include the G50V's in the Malaysia market so finding a retailer shouldn't be an issue. I spent about $1200 USD on the one I purchased a while back and the system is very good for gaming and general usage. The only complaints I have are the amount of crapware that is part of the factory install and the speakers weren't very loud (given I wear a headset if I'm gaming, this isn't much of an issue though)

Laptop charger 's voltage
Laptop charger 's voltage?
Hi, I am going to buy a laptop which has been made in Europe or maybe malaysia.Do they work in US with their chargers? I mean, the voltage in some countries is 220 while the default voltage in US is 110...Should they have a converter with them? or should their chargers support this ? Thanks.

Hi i'm not sure about the international voltage standards or anything, but i recently had to purchase a new charger for my laptop. The salesman said that the cheap laptop chargers only have one voltage, whereas the more expensive ones automatically adjust the voltage to suit the laptop. So if yo do purchase the europe laptop then you may want to purchase a charger in the US taht adjusts its voltage, or find out if the supplied charger does this

Answer 1 :
well first off, "alienware" is built out of standard hardware you can find anywhere, mac is proprietary for many parts still to this day, but are more readily available than they were 5-10 years ago. alienware is just a company that makes "pimped out" packages for hardware(they also use better quality components), in reality you could order/buy a laptop of comparable spec for less of another brand. If you plan to play any games, steer away from mac. If you are looking for "just a computer to browse the internet/watch movies" then by all means order/buy a cheap one from somewhere like dell. Both mac and "Alienware" look cool, yet both have different "puposes", macs are good for editing (both video and audio), but a windows based computer is the only sure way to go if you are going to be playing any games as mostly all are not supported by mac. Either will work for "random internet browsing"
Answer 2 :
You need an alienware laptop if you need to play games. If you dont wanna go for apple. But remember it can be laptop is windows uncompatable and you will have a hard time finding software for you MAC. You can view other brands like HP, Lennovo...NOT Dell (I have one...and its pathetic) if you dont want gaming features in you laptop but other features instead

Answer 1 :
I would say Alienware is the way to go. Macs are snazzy and all that, and they have some great program packages, but seriously, an Alienware versus a Mac. If you're going to do any gaming at all go with the Alienware. As far as maintenance and performance goes, if the Alienware is NEW and you have a firewall/security programs you should have it last for many many years. Once Macs are out of date, you need to buy a new Mac. If your Alienware goes out of date, its ussually just one or two components from it that will be 'out of date' and it won't cost that much money to get an upgraded component.
Answer 2 :
alienware is specifically designed for gaming... mac is also good but id rather choose alienware if i were you
Answer 3 :
I've never heard of any malaysian buying alienware hardware. But if you can, and you have a money, alienware generally is build for performance

Can you help me choose a laptop
Can you help me choose a laptop?
I am a power user and a business student. I will either buy a high end system else or I will buy a cheap netbook and wait for better priced systems to come out. I can buy the laptop/netbook from either India/Singapore/Malaysia, so please Englighten me on where they might be cheaper. So far I have narrowed down on: A) Fully Upgraded HP HDX 16 B) Fully Upgraded Dell Studio 15 The difference between these two isn't much. The price is almost the same but the Dell is available in India (where I reside) and I will need to look around a bit for the HP. Both cost approximate 1580 US$ The Dell has a 720p 15.6 inch display whereas the HP has a 1080p 16 inch display. The dell has an inferior graphic card, about 80% perfomance of HP's graphic card. Other than these there isn't much difference in the specification, its just that I will need to buy the HP from either Singapore or Malaysia. So help me choose between A) Dell B) HP C) Netbook or else the laptop that you suggest! Thank you =) As I mentioned I have already customized these and they are fully upgraded. I am also an avid gamer so mac is out of question.

Answer 4 :
if you are a business student, you want a reliable laptop. I suggest looking at Macs. they are less viruses, and easier help. Mac has set up special genius bars around the world that help solve computer problems.
Answer 5 :
Dell is honestly the best if you want to chose your specifications. Try their web site and it allows you to choose a laptop to be built to your requirements from choosing various options
Answer 6 :
You definitely should get a Macbook Pro http://store.apple.com/us/browse/home/shop_mac/family/macbook_pro?mco=MTE4NDY the price range is $1,199.00 to $2,499.00. The cheap one is awesome too. You can even install Windows XP or Windows Vista on it, if you like or needed Windows for some odd reason. Macs ironically make the best Windows computers. Some stand-out features of the Macbook Pro: 1) Light up keyboard. Type in the dark! 2) Magnetic powerchord. Safely releases with a good tug. Someone tripping over the chord won't knock your computer over. 3) Multitouch trackpad: Click with two fingers to right click. Drag with three fingers to scroll. Perform gestures like on the iphone. If you don't like touchpads, just use a USB two-button mouse like any other computer. 4) The laptop is carved out of a single solid block of aluminum. It looks and feels amazing. The screen is made of glass, which make the entire unit very recycling friendly. 5) 7-8 hour battery life. No other laptop I know comes even close. 6) Comes with free, awesome, software to manage photos, edit video, create and record music. The software alone should be worth thousands of dollars, but is totally free. Edit: About gaming: With Core 2 Duo processors, nvdia graphics cards, easy to upgrade RAM and harddrive, ability to run Windows software just as natively as Dell or HP computers, Macs are fantastic for gaming. On my iMac that I bought 4 years ago, I use to play Half Life 2 in high resolution with every graphics setting on maximum, smoothly. They have gotten much better over the last 4 years.
Answer 7 :
The best laptop on the market, is the Macbook Pro. Macs have an easy to use interface and they offer great support and are virus free. Trust me, I've owned Macs for years and will never own anything else. My roommate has a Dell laptop that freezes on her all the time, she once asked me how often my Mac freezes. I've had my laptop about four years and it's frozen on me twice at the most. Seriously, Macs are easy and hassle free

My Playstation 2 isn't working
My Playstation 2 isn't working?
So my Playstation 2 ain't working, when i plug it in to the power, there's no red light. I bought this Playstation in Malaysia so it has the UK based power supply, and I'm now currently in Canada. Can anyone tell me how to make it work? I've tried adapters (which I use for my laptop and other appliances from Malaysia), is there a possibility that I need a transformer converter? Its the fat one, and yes i've turned the back switch on but it still doesn't work

what type of playstation 2 is it? is it the slim PS2 or is it the fat PS2. if it is the fat one there is a power swith in the back to turn it in to the red light. if it is slim, the red light should turn on
Answer 2 :
I have two choices for you, one if you think that from Malaysia power supply is causing the trouble then get the one in Canada. Two some power supply are possible to be broken or plug in it till the end because I have to plug in it really hard to work. Good Luck

Serious problem with shopping
Serious problem with shopping?
HI EVERYBODY Yesterday I saw an advertisement in which a merchant he had declared that he sells cell phones and cameras and laptops. When I checked out the prices I was somehow shocked. The prices were even lower than a half of the offical prcies which have been decleared by the company! When I contacted the merchant for shopping He said that the only shiping methods which is acceptable to him for 2-3 units is Western Union and money Gram but he accepts Paypal for more than 20 units when I asked the reason he said Western Union is faster and more reliable for us.After googling this issue in the internet i found that most of the merchants who only accept WM/MG are fraud and scam and if you deposit the money there is no guarantee that the merchant really sends and delivers the good to you and there will be no assurance that if you don't recieve the good the merchant will give you back the money. When i checked out his number I was shocked again I saw his number sarts with +447 ! which is not a direct number and it will deliver you to another number in another side of the world ! and when i asked for a direct number he gave me a number which was in malaysia and after checking out the number i was shocked again ! guess what ?! the number was a cell phone number ( which was probably a pre-paid number ).another thing which was astonishing for me was once i was chatting with him when i said i live in us he said delivery and shipping costs 30 bucks and we ship from malaysia .then i had a malaysian friend i asked him to talk with the merchant .when my friend talked with him he said to him that i live in malaysia and want to purchase some products the merchant answered the shipping costs 30 bucks and we ship from us !!!!!! After I complained to him about this issue and asked him how you shipped from malaysia and now you ship from us ?!! he responded that i have nothing in stock in Malysia ! I asked have you sold all of your goods in Malaysia in just 2 hours ?!!! He said yeah we are a whole sale famous company !!!! When I said that i couldn't trust with this situation and insisted to have an address of him he gave me an address ( that probably I couldn't check it out due to living in US ) but gave me an bank account number. My question is,is a bank account number in malaysia trustable and if i deposit the money but he doesn't deliver and ship the goods can i get my money back ??? ( the bank is a malaysian bank) Thank you very much hope you have a nice day

Answer 1 :
It's a SCAM. There are no electronics - there is a scammer who wants your money. How many more clues do you need Or if there are electronics, they are cheap Chinese knockoffs that might look like the real thing in a picture but stop working in 2 weeks There is NO way to ever get your money back if you pay with a bank transfer, Western Union, Moneygram, Money order, Cashier's Check, etc. ONLY a credit card (not debit card) will offer you a guaranteed refund if you don't get your money back. A bank transfer is irreversible as is WU or Moneygram. You send that money and it's gone forever. The only way you would have any chance of getting it back would be if you were to fly to Malaysia, hire a lawyer and spend a year living in Malaysia pursuing this through civil court to get your money back which is going to cost you $10,000+. The scammers know there is no way you are going to do this. Not to mention the fact that they use fake IDs to set up bank accounts anyway and immediately withdraw any transfers and close the account, so you would not even be able to find the real person who scammed you even if you went to Malaysia. Even Paypal is no guarantee - Paypal can only refund you IF there is money in the seller's account. What the scammers do all the time is set up fake websites selling cheap electronics (or designer clothing/accessories), create a Paypal account, keep coming up with "shipping delays" until enough people order, then they withdraw all the money from the paypal account and close the bank account or cancel the credit card the Paypal account was linked to. Then when you file a chargeback you are out of luck - Paypal tells you that Malaysia is a very developed country and everyone takes credit cards there - so never trust any dealer who does not take credit cards. And electronics are not cheap in Malaysia - they are more expensive there than they are in Thailand, Singapore, Hong Kong, China, etc. That's why many Malaysians buy their electronics when they travel to other countries in Asia If he were at all a legitimate retailer he would accept credit cards through a secure https payment page Besides, you can contact the Malaysian representative office of the electronics manufacturers you are interested in and verify this person is a legitimate retailer/wholesaler of their products. So if you are buying Sony goods, then contact Sony Malaysia http://www.sony.com.my/section/contactus If they are Panasonic products contact Panasonic Malaysia http://www.panasonic.com.my/wps/portal/home/contactus If they are Apple products the Apple Malaysia website lists every authorised reseller in the country http://store.apple.com.au/asia/FMPro?-db=asiachannelweb.fp5&-lay=web&-format=%2Fasia%2Flocateresults.html&-error=%2Fasia%2Flocaterrors.html&-max=25&-sortfield=level&-sortorder=ascending&-sortfield=TradingAs&-sortorder=ascending&country=Malaysia&-find= If the real company has no record of this person being an authorised dealer of their products it's even more proof you are dealing with a scammer - but from everything you say it's obvious it's a scam And check your phone bill - those +4470 numbers are premium rate numbers that can bill you up to £50 ($80) per call with no way to know in advance how much that call is going to cost you. So even if you don't send money for anything the scammer is still profiting from every call people make to him
Answer 2 :
100% scam, you know this, you did all the research! There are NO phones, there are only stolen stock photos of phones. There is only a scammer trying to steal your hard-earned money. NO, bank account is NOT a safe way to pay, EVER. Your bank can only get your money back if there is money left in the scammer's bank account. Scammers know this and will immediately withdrawal the money you transferred. No money in the account means absolutely no possibility of you getting your hard-earned cash back. Doesn't matter what country the bank account is located in, your money is gone the second you send it. WU and MG are worse. Western Union and moneygram do not verify anything on the form the sender fills out, not the name, not the street address, not the country, not even the gender of the receiver, it all means absolutely nothing. The clerk will not bother to check ID and will simply hand off your cash to whomever walks in the door with the MTCN# and question/answer. Neither company will tell the sender who picked up the cash, at what store location or even in what country your money walked out the door. Neither company has any kind of refund policy, money sent is money gone forever. Paypal is just as unsafe, paypal can only get your money back if there is money left in the scammer's paypal-linked bank account. Scammers know this and will immediately withdrawal your money and disappear. No money in the scammer's paypal-linked bank account means absolutely no possibility of refund for you. Now that you have responded to a scammer, you are on his 'potential sucker' list, he will try again to separate you from your cash. He will send you more emails from his other free email addresses using another of his fake names with all kinds of stories of cheap electronics, great jobs, lottery winnings, millions in the bank and desperate, lonely, sexy singles. He will sell your email address to all his scamming buddies who will also send you dozens of fake emails all with the exact same goal, you sending them your cash via Western Union or moneygram. You could post up the email address and the emails themselves that the scammer is using, it will help make your post more googlable for other suspicious potential victims to find when looking for information. Do you know how to check the header of a received email? If not, you could google for information. Being able to read the header to determine the geographic location an email originated from will help you weed out the most obvious scams and scammers. Then delete and block that scammer. Don't bother to tell him that you know he is a scammer, it isn't worth your effort. He has one job in life, convincing victims to send him their hard-earned cash. Whenever suspicious or just plain curious, google everything, website addresses, names used, companies mentioned, phone numbers given, all email addresses, even sentences from the emails as you might be unpleasantly surprised at what you find already posted online. You can also post/ask here and every scam-warner-anti-fraud-busting site you can find before taking a chance and losing money to a scammer. If you google "fake iphone seller", "fraud Western Union electronics scam" or something similar you will find hundreds of posts of victims and near-victims of this type of scam

SCAM SCAM SCAM!!!!! Don't do it. No, a credit card is not guaranteed. If you give this guy your credit card number, you are asking for him to use it to buy whatever he wants. I hope you haven't given this person any information.

Answer 2 :
RM2,500 for laptop.
Answer 3 :
rm3,000 should get you a half decent laptop.
Answer 4 :
RM6000
Answer 5 :
Laptops come from about RM2500 up to RM12,000. I don't know what you call 'decent' but for me that would be one around the RM4500-6000 mark. The same on a PC would cost you around RM1800-2500. When you are in Malaysia buy a newspaper such as the STAR, and you'll find lots of ads and promotions, or go to any shopping mall and visit a computer shop. Looking around and comparing prices, and discounts, is well worth while. As for gold, here in Sabah a gram of 98ct is around RM70 at the moment (in jewellery; say a ring is 2.5 grms, it would sell for RM175), but I don't know how much in Peninsular Malaysia, it might be a bit cheaper

Answer 1 :
The HP has better specs (faster processer, bluetooth capability, bigger screen, better graphics card.). But it also has Service Pack 1 which could really cause compatibility problems if you want to use older hardware with it like a webcam. That's what happened to me when I bought my new HP with SP1. I had to find a workaround to get my old webcam working with it. If that's not a concern for you, then I'd go with the HP. (Have no idea whether it makes a difference where it's manufactured.)
